I noticed that the latest edition of Time Magazine(April 2, 2007) has a different cover for the US as compared to the rest of the world. The European, South Pacific, and Asian editions carry the cover story of "Talibanistan" and how radical elements are spreading in the north western frontier of Pakistan. The US edition is replaced by an article on why Christianity should be taught in public schools. It seems to suggest that Americans would be more interested in the whole state-and-religion debate yet again.
Thankfully, the US edition does carry the other article. On the flip side, at least most Americans aren't going to be faced with another image they might confuse with the Sikhs.

Happens
This is very common. Any int'l magazine will always have a cover reflective of the relevant news of the region it serves.
A few years ago, Time Asia had Sachin Tendulkar on its cover. I doubt that the American public would be interested in a story about the cultural and socio-economic influence of the Master Blaster on the sub-continent's diaspora.
There is no conspiracy:)
Btw, I read the article on God in schools, and it's actually pretty sensible. If you remember, we studied Hindu and other scriptures in school - but strictly as a matter of information, without any preaching. Unfortunately, it may be too hard for Bible preachers to do that.
Very true
Very true. It does have to cater to the tastes of the region, and many of the previous covers have been related to terrorism or the war in Iraq, so a change may have been warranted.
I'm not worried about a conspiracy either :) but I have my doubts on just how objectively a bible class might be taught in Kansas.
